Update forcing a "Reinstall?"

In this day and age, having to delete and re-install an app due to an update is just not acceptable. With iOS 7s automatic updates, we may not even know its necessary for weeks after the update occurs. Plus, with the App Store having over a million apps and there being close to 100 "converter" apps, is this really a smart idea?

Also, the update claims to use iOS 7 UI features. All I see is text in the dials that are as close to unreadable on an iPhone as can be and a menu on the left that has no "hamburger" button to indicate that one exists. Sure there is a help screen that appears when you first start the updated app. However, if you are like most people, you breeze through that screen to get to the program since you need to use it for a conversion only to find you dont know how to change the conversion type.

This converter app is now not my go to app.
